Embracing New Technologies
WSSI archeologists work with our surveyors to document important archeological features prior to their removal or preservation in place. Through the process of photogrammetry, a series of 2D photographs are stitched together to create a comprehensive 3D model with highly accurate digitized plans and stratigraphic profiles. The 3D models are used in the study and interpretation of archeological features, allowing staff to work more efficiently. The 3D models are also useful for public outreach or project marketing.
