We See the Whole Picture
Scoping is a critical part of NEPA, and we work to identify potential environmental issues early so they can be adequately addressed. WSSI identifies the expected level of NEPA documentation and public involvement that are appropriate for a project, and we are experienced in preparing NEPA documents that are easily readable by the public while being technically accurate and legally defensible. We understand the importance of NEPA approvals and schedule in the big picture of a project’s success.
Proper Environmental Documentation for your Projects, Big and Small
We have extensive experience preparing NEPA documents projects of all sizes where federal funding is in play. From the U.S. Department of Defense to state Departments of Transportation and even local governments, WSSI has covered a wide range of activities and needs. WSSI NEPA experts have managed several large and complex Environmental Assessments (EAs), numerous smaller EAs and Categorical Exclusions (CEs), and have been major contributors to Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) for multiple federal agencies and third parties.
We have worked on numerous locally administered projects (LAP) and have extensive experience with the State Environmental Review Process (SERP) and the Environmental Impact Reports (EIR) required for state-funded projects. Our portfolio covers a range of clients and activities, from transportation to drinking water, communications, and Department of Defense projects.
We have navigated a variety of federal environmental laws that integrate with NEPA projects, including Clean Water Act §404, Endangered Species Act §7, National Historic Preservation Act §106, Department of Transportation Act §4(f), Land and Water Conservation Fund Act §6(f), and Executive Order 12988: Environmental Justice.
